Cynthia Rauschert is a professional stilt-walker, juggler/manipluator, and character animator. She is originally from New York City and now resides in Oakland, California.|
After six years working primarily as a roaming entertainer and circus skills instructor at various private, corporate and community events on the east coast, she decided to pursue a lifelong dream by taking the next step in her professional development and auditioning for the Clown Conservatory at Circus Center San Francisco.
She was accepted, and joined the flagship "EPI/CC" program, a collaboration between the Clown Conservatory and New College of California's Experimental Performance Institute. In August 2007 Cynthia was one of the first four to ever receive an accredited degree in Clowning in the United States. After receiving her degree she toured with Cirque du Soleil on the Saltimbanco Bus and is now performing and teaching circus arts locally in the Bay Area while, working on new material, and enjoying the California sunshine.
When not performing Cynthia operates CynRa Media, a small private graphic design company "for artists by artists". She is co-producer of CircusNYC.com and JuggleNYC.com, resource portal sites for circus artists and jugglers to find and share information in the New York City regional area. Cynthia is also an avid taiko (Japanese drum) player, and "foodie". She'll eat almost anything and loves exploring local cuisines of other cultures.
Cynthia's mission is to spread joy and wonder and she is determined to change the world one smile at a time.
